Uplifting the Community Together
Working alongside other organizations to give back to our community through secure and affordable housing is always an honor and a privilege. We were so excited to bring the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community on as a sponsor for our Suter Street Project.
VMRC, is all about people, with the organization providing continued care for over 700 seniors, allowing them to fully live out their lives with joy and security, something that we at Central Valley Habitat understand intimately through our own housing initiatives.
Over $55,000 was donated by the VMRC foundation to establish the groundwork for a brand-new triplex on Suter Street, exemplifying the foundation’s core values of compassion and community enrichment. Currently, the building is projected to be completed by June 30th, 2025, and a family has already been chosen, meaning that in just a few short months, this family will have a new place to call home. In addition, everyone from residents to the Vice President has pitched in to help bring this building to life through volunteerism. Their devotion is inspiring and likewise inspires the residents to follow their passions and pursuits and cultivate a spiritual wellness that is invaluable to VMRC.
Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community’s partnership with Central Valley Habitat is a yearlong affair. From sponsoring golf tournaments to donating to our ReStore, it’s a symbiotic relationship that keeps giving. If you own an organization that aligns with our mission, we implore you to learn more about our opportunities to partner together.
