Donate to the ReStore

We are looking for local contractors, business owners, store managers, groups, and individuals to partner with us on our mission to help those in need. You can make a difference by simply donating your unwanted items in the categories above to our ReStore, and by encouraging your friends and family to do the same. All the proceeds from the ReStore go to fund Habitat for Humanity houses.

If you have items you would like to donate, please call, or email the ReStore manager and she will arrange a convenient pickup day and time for you at your home or business.

To shop at the ReStore is to go on a wonderful adventure!

You never know what you will find at the ReStore and it is never the same store twice.

Since our donations come from different people and places every week, and we sell a wide variety of things…it’s like shopping in many different stores all at once.

We are not your ordinary thrift store, proceeds from Habitat ReStores are put to good use creating hope, hospitality, and homes in our community and around the world.

Volunteer

Volunteer at the ReStore

Since the ReStore is a non-profit organization, our funds are slated to fulfill the mission of building houses.

We rely on the kindness and generosity of volunteers to do a lot of the work in the ReStore.

  • Are you retired? Are you an empty nester? Are you a widow or widower? Would you like to make new friends and meet new people?
  • Are you disabled but desire to get out of the house and contribute to meaningful work?
  • Are you a high school (at least 16 years of age) or college student who wants to help others and make a difference in our community?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you should consider volunteering at the ReStore. We are looking for volunteers to help with stocking, cleaning, organizing, selling, and unloading and processing donations.

What Materials Do We Accept?

We are accepting donations of new and
gently used:

 

Furniture

Couches, dining chairs, shelving, end tables, coffee tables, bed frames, china cabinets, desks, etc.

Working Appliances

Coffee makers, microwaves, dishwashers, clothes dryers, washing machines, refrigerators, etc.

Home Decor

Paintings, frames, prints, knick-knacks, wall decor, statuary, lamps, light fixtures, vases, accent rugs, throw pillows, blankets, and sheets.

Housewares

Placemats, serving dishes, pots, and pans, plate sets, etc.

Home Improvement Items

Sinks, vanities, doors, tubs, and more.

Home Repair Items

Tools, fixtures, fasteners, knobs, and building supplies.

Musical Instruments

Excluding pianos

Bicycles

In functioning condition

Toys | Books | Jewelry | Art | Music | Movies

Schedule a Pickup

Please Note: Drop-off will be available soon, we are waiting to complete the inside of our store location. Small items can be dropped off at the Habitat Office after confirmation from our ReStore Manager.

By Phone

 1. Call our ReStore at (540) 490-0300 and speak with our ReStore Manager, Caroline Law.

2. Our store manager will assess the items you would like to donate and let you know if we can accept them.

3. If we can accept your items, we will arrange either a pick-up or drop-off date and time. 

Online

1. Look over our “Materials We Accept” list above to see if your items meet our criteria.

2. Click the “Schedule a Pickup” button – this will take you to our online pickup form.

3. Fill out the form completely and submit. Our ReStore Manager or other staff will be in touch about completing your pick-up!

  • Our store is staffed, stocked, cleaned, and maintained
  • Our donations are received, priced, displayed, and money raised is sent to our affiliate to fund Habitat homes

Treasures in all shapes, sizes, and kinds will be sold in our ReStore. As a volunteer, you will receive the employee discount on purchases. That is a great perk for volunteering! You will also be “in the know” as wonderful donations come in.

Team Lift Program

Be uplifting and volunteer for our Team Lift Program!

Are you strong and physically active?

Do you want to get out of the weight room for one of your workouts?

We need help loading and unloading furniture and appliances on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! Are you part of a sports team, club, fraternity/sorority, gym, Crossfit program, or just want to get out and be active? Contact our ReStore Manager Caroline Law to find out how to sign up to lift something heavy for families in need!

SCSEP Volunteer Program 

Would you like to volunteer at the ReStore but need additional income? SCSEP may be the solution to both!

SCSEP (Senior Community Service Employment Program) is a government-funded program that helps people who are at least 55 years old, unemployed, have limited income, or a disability get a job. You may qualify for this paid volunteer program.

We partner with SCSEP to place participants in our ReStore. Please call the ReStore for more information, ask for Caroline.
