Silver Bowl Gifted by Jimmy Carter, Signed by Jimmy Carter and Teddy Kennedy

This photograph was taken when a local individual received this presentation bowl from President Jimmy Carter in 1980. He was a frequent visitor to the White House during President Carter’s term in office. During one of their conversations President Carter’s passions for Habitat for Humanity was so infectious that he immediately became a point of light and was involved in the Washington DC/Northern Va Chapter. He then introduced his employees, and in fact several of them went on to be on the leadership team as well as board of directors. Recently one of them headed up a blitz build. After all these years his own children are still active with Habitat. This is what can happen when you become a point of light and share your passion.
