We have some amazing Fall events coming up this year, including multiple fundraisers and ceremonies where we can raise money for our cause or work with our homeowners to celebrate their Habitat journey!

If you’re interested in helping us build strength, stability, and self-reliance for families in the Harrisonburg-Rockingham area, consider attending one of the events listed below!

October 20 – Habitat Sunday

Celebrate Habitat Sunday with your congregation and teach others about the mission of Central Valley Habitat in the community. We have a packet pre-made and ready for you to use that includes sermons, devotions, hymns and more! If you think your church would be interested in participating in Habitat Sunday, please contact our Community Outreach Coordinator Kirsten by email at kirsten@centralvalleyhabitat.org

October 25 – Expressions of Home Closing Exhibition

The closing exhibition for the Expressions of Home project will be Friday, October 25th from 5:30-8pm at the Church of the Incarnation in Harrisonburg. In this project, local piano students and elementary school students from John Wayland Elementary School partnered together to create music arrangements and artwork reminiscent of the idea of “home.” Materials used by arts students were recycled from past Habitat construction sites. In May 2019, students got together and showcased their work for each other at John Wayland, with plans to exhibit the work in downtown Harrisonburg in Fall 2019. In a questionnaire, students responded that participating in “Expressions of Home” was a fun experience that made them feel “proud,” important,” and “opened their eyes” to how Habitat for Humanity serves our community.

The closing exhibition for the project will be Friday, October 25th from 5:30-8pm at the Church of the Incarnation. For more information about the events or project, contact Natalie Doughty at doughtna@jmu.edu.
