On Sunday, October 7, 2018, a group of community members, churches, sponsors, and more gathered at Roberts Ct. in Harrisonburg to celebrate the beginning of the Mariam Gebru family’s journey with Central Valley Habitat for Humanity.

Though the duplexes have already begun to take shape, this increased the excitement in the air as we look forward to the dedication of the homes.

Members of the Central Valley Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, our Executive Director David Wenger, and Tim Frost of Covenant Presbyterian spoke about the family and their journey. Special music was provided by Covenant Presbyterian’s Children’s choir as well as musicians from the congregation.
